Service: National Chain Lube Center Vs. Hill International Trucks

Service: National Chain Lube Center Vs. Hill International TrucksMaintaining a truck or a small fleet used to be a fairly simple task. Change the oil, grease the chassis and make sure the gear boxes were full, and you for the most part had a fairly solid maintenance program. Today that still is true, but are you or your service provider maintaining the additional items that come with a late model truck? Today's trucks have many additional items that require some degree of service or cleaning at prescribed intervals. Does your current service provider advise you of these? Do they even know about them?

Taking your truck to any of the national chain lube centers is the normal procedure for many people but what are you missing out on? With the advent of electronically controlled engines a great deal of items may be neglected at these facilities. It's not that they don't care; most don't know that your engine ECM may have a recalibration that is not current, or a campaign or even possibly a recall that is open on your truck.

So what happens when you take your truck in to get a service at any of the Hill International Trucks service departments? Upon arrival the service writer will begin the process of starting a repair order, and at which time they will visit your truck and connect a device to generate a "health report" on your truck. The health report will show any active codes on your vehicle along with the current miles and hours. Once our service writer gathers this information, they will run your VIN through International's or Cummin's database to check for any recalibrations, campaigns or recalls that may pertain to your truck or engine and write them up on the repair order, along with getting them completed.
