Our journey began in 1897 as a farm hardware and equipment store in Lisbon, Ohio, founded by Oswin Spencer Hill. Since then, we've evolved into a premier dealership offering a wide range of trucks, trailers, and services to meet the transportation needs of our customers. With a rich history spanning four generations, Hill International Trucks has continuously adapted to meet the changing demands of the industry. From our humble beginnings as a small hardware store to expanding our footprint across Ohio and Pennsylvania, our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction remains unwavering.

Hill International Trucks has been serving the trucking industry of the Tri-State area for the past 125 years. Founded in Lisbon, Ohio in 1897 by Oswin Spencer Hill, the company had its beginnings as a farm hardware and equipment store. Oswin's son, Donald, then added the International Truck Franchise in 1939 and dropped the farm equipment lines in 1956. Don's son, Jack, opened the East Liverpool location in 1961 and operated both facilities until 1965 when the Lisbon store was closed. The company was moved to its present location on 8 acres on the Y & O Road at State Route 170 and State Route 11 in East Liverpool, Ohio in 1971. The Wheeling store at #1-27th Street was added in 1979. In 1997, Hill International Trucks joined Idealease, Navistar's Truck Rental and Leasing operation with the opening of Hill Idealease in Martins Ferry, Ohio. In 2003, Hill International Trucks opened their third store in Washington, PA. In 2007, Hill International Trucks built a new facility in Eighty Four, PA to replace the Washington, PA location. As the company entered 2020, they opened a new location in the Aliquippa Industrial Park located in Aliquippa, PA. Growth in 2020 continued as Hill International Trucks opened a new location in St. Clairsville, OH in November. The existing Wheeling, WV dealership moved operations to St. Clairsville on November 15, 2021. With a building footprint of about 34,000 sq. ft., sitting on a piece of property just over 16 acres, the state-of-the-art St. Clairsville dealership is truly a marvel. Sitting just off I-70, this new facility quickly became a counted-on destination for all truckers traveling through the Ohio Valley.

On September 1, 2023 Hill International Trucks purchased Truck Sales and Service, Inc. The purchase included five dealerships in Canton, Mansfield, Norwalk, New Philadelphia, and Marietta, OH, significantly increasing the company's footprint in Ohio. The purchase also included the IC Bus line which allowed Hill International Trucks to better service their school bus customers. Hill International Trucks is a proud owner of six NAPA Auto Parts locations: East Liverpool, OH; Cadiz, OH; Magnolia, OH; Carrollton, OH; St. Clairsville, OH, and Wheeling, WV. Since NAPAs inception it continues to serve auto service professionals, do-it-yourselfers and everyday drivers with quality parts and supplies to keep cars, trucks, and equipment performing safely and efficiently. The dealerships have been operated by the Hill family for four generations and are now under the direction of Jack's son, Steve. Three generations of the Hill family were present to accept a 60 year Senior Dealer award from their Navistar Regional Sales Manager. Donald Hill, Jack Hill, Steve Hill, George Gracan. Hill attributes the company's success to a wonderful team of "Employee - Partners" and the support of thousands of customers in the tri-state area. "'Delivering Beyond the Expected' is the slogan of International Trucks. This has been our goal for over 100 years and we look forward to serving the transportation needs of the area for many more years. Our goal is to have Steve and his team accept a 100-year plaque in 2039."
